CEO Pat Geraghty Welcomes Top Health Care Industry Leaders to GuideWell Innovation Center

What to expect at the 2020 Lake Nona Impact Forum

The Lake Nona Impact Forum convenes more than 300 thought leaders with a variety of views from business, academia, government and health care, and will kick off on Wednesday, Feb. 26, in Orlando’s Lake Nona Medical City.

One of the main goals of the event is to bring thought leaders together who are driving creative, innovative health and wellness solutions, which in turn encourages thinking about new ways to address health care issues we’re all trying to solve.

As in past years, parts of the event will take place at our GuideWell Innovation Center. Events like this provide an opportunity to be an active participant and engage in conversations that are important to the future of health care. With so many diverse perspectives coming together, these forums provide individuals and organizations with an opportunity to bring their points of view together in an effort toward increasing education and fostering collaboration.

Among the nationally recognized speakers who will participate in the 2020 Impact Forum are Dr. Amy Abernethy, principal deputy commissioner & acting CIO of the US Food and Drug Administration, K. Guru Gowrappan, CEO of Verizon Media, Admiral Brett Giroir, assistant secretary for health for the US Department of Health and Human Services and CMS Administrator Seema Verma.

Like GuideWell, Seema Verma is particularly focused on initiatives that drive innovation and address affordability and access to care. She understands the important role innovation and technology play in improving our overall health care system and continues to support ways to drive health innovation.

We’re looking forward to showcasing our GuideWell Innovation Center to the administrator and other prominent speakers, as well as the hundreds of attendees. Our Innovation Center serves as a hub where many innovators and entrepreneurs come together to implement solutions that can improve the health and wellbeing of people and communities across our state and country.

In addition to opening the day with comments about GuideWell’s mission and commitment to health care access and affordability, our President and CEO Pat Geraghty will participate in a panel discussion on health care policy. Other panelists that will take part in that discussion include Mark McClellan, former commissioner of the U.S. Food & Drug Administration and Avik Roy, president of the Foundation for Research on Equal Opportunity. The panel will be moderated by Clifton Leaf, editor-in-chief of Fortune Magazine.
