Is it possible that the source of the next generation of medical breakthroughs resides in our very own gut? Absolutely, according to GuideWell’s senior director of business innovation, Chris Hillier. A trained pharmacologist, physiologist and multiple patent-holder of biologic solutions, Chris has long been fascinated by the potential of the microbes that live in, and on, every person’s body including the skin and digestive system. He was motivated to select the microbiome as his topic for a workshop he’ll lead at next week’s Exponential Medicine specifically because he believes that an audience can collaborate in his process to reverse engineer a microbiome-based solution – or at least create a solid start to one.
