The “Triple Aim” in health care delivery is a mantra of sorts these days, but with good reason: improving health outcomes, advancing population health and driving down the cost of care is a far superior – and more sustainable – approach over traditional care delivery. GuideWell’s President, René Lerer, M.D., provided his perspective on the shift toward value-based care in light of the Triple Aim in his keynote address to The Florida Association of Accountable Care Organizations Fall conference today in Orlando. There, he outlined the real benefits and concomitant expectations hospitals, physicians and payors all have from these new arrangements.
As René shared, most vital to this continuing evolution is not just satisfying, but anticipating the needs of patients, with the goal of keeping them well with preventive care. This will require collaboration along several lines so that
- data is actionable,
- caregivers provide evidence-based treatment in the appropriate setting,
- quality is measureable, and
- costs are contained.
René concluded the address by informing the audience about GuideWell’s approach to partnership: aligning with entities that share our commitment to helping people and communities achieve better health. “Our momentum is real as we build on our current successes and innovate to transform health care delivery. Our members deserve nothing less.”
