John Ramil Elected to Serve on GuideWell Board of Directors

Announced at the 2017 Annual Meeting of Members of GuideWell Mutual Holding Corporation (GuideWell), John B. Ramil was elected to serve a three-year term on the GuideWell Board of Directors.

Ramil is retired president, CEO and director of TECO Energy, Inc., a leading energy company located in Tampa. TECO operates Tampa Electric, a regulated utility company; Peoples Gas System, Florida's largest natural gas distributor; and New Mexico Gas, that state’s largest natural gas distributor.

Ramil also serves on the boards of Emera Inc. and the Moffitt Cancer Center. He is Trustee and past chair of the University of South Florida and is past chair for Inroads-Tampa Bay, the American Heart Association-Tampa Bay Heart Walk, Southeastern Electric Exchange and Florida Electric Power Coordinating Group. Ramil is the recipient of numerous honors including the H.L. Culbreath Profiles in Leadership Award and the University of Tampa Ethics Award.

Ramil has served on the GuideWell Mutual Holding Corporation Board since the beginning of 2014 and on the Florida Blue Board since 2006.

In addition to Ramil, Patrick Geraghty and Leerie Jenkins, Jr. were elected to the Board at today’s meeting.
