For us, as a health solutions enterprise, it means finding innovative ways to ensure that our employees, members, neighbors and communities are safe and healthy. And there's been no more important time to do this than right now.

Throughout the course of this pandemic, we've heard a great deal about the shortage of personal protective equipment, or PPE. I'm proud to share that we are playing a role in helping to address this issue.

This isn't something we can accomplish on our own. It takes strong and innovative care partnerships in communities across the state and beyond, all working together for those we serve.

As we collectively face a pandemic unlike any other, our health care industry's network of caregivers is leading the way, walking into the crisis head on, and being the face of strength, courage and compassion in a time of fear and uncertainty.

That's why we made an initial investment of more than $2 million into our local neighborhoods from Florida to Tennessee to Pennsylvania. The organizations we're supporting have expressed deep gratitude and they're sharing so many inspiring pictures of our support in action.

In South Florida, our contributions to United Way of Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade, are helping volunteers distribute food to families during this challenging time.

We're supporting Feeding Tampa Bay, and United Way Suncoast in their efforts to feed people in the Tampa community.

In Sarasota, All Faiths Food Bank is also distributing meals.

GuideWell has announced it is launching a COVID-19 Health Innovation Collaborative, an initiative that seeks to connect diverse innovative health-technology companies across the U.S. to bring forth solutions that address gaps in response to global health pandemics.

“At GuideWell, we believe it takes a village to support people and communities to achieve better health,” said Ana Gupte, GuideWell chief strategy and innovation officer. “We are launching this initiative as a call for solution-driven thought leaders to join a collaborative and innovative task force to aid our nation through this global health crisis and to better prepare us for future health pandemics.”

Onlife Health and PopHealthCare, together with their parent company GuideWell, announced today an initial investment of $50,000 for urgent health and safety needs in communities across the Nashville area in response to the COVID-19 public health crisis. The contributions will address middle Tennessee emergency assistance efforts.

Together, the Nashville-based companies Onlife and PopHealthCare employ 800 people in Tennessee and the donation will support emergency needs around their area offices. The gift from their parent company, GuideWell, is being made to the United Way of Greater Nashville COVID-19 Response Fund. The fund was recently established to quickly and effectively address both the health and economic challenges of this virus – for Tennesseans who have lost their job or are experiencing loss of income and other challenges due to closed establishments or cancelled events.
